Running back is not only the most important position in fantasy – it’s the best. Who doesn’t like to excavate that late round gem that changes a meaningful fantasy starter during the season? Or digging through the exemption wire to store a runner who will be a weekly winner in the Fantasy Play-Offs.
We also far away from the days that Bell-COW-Rug dominated the fantasy landscape. Real workhorse runners have become rare as teams try to share the workload over several ball carriers to keep them all healthy during a 17-game season.

That is the fantasy production spread over more running and attach more importance in securing at least one of the high-end producers in the position.

In recent years I have preferred that style of heroes-RB approach in fantasy concepts. Lock your star RB1 and then enter the rest of your line-up before you tackle your second running place with as much late-round upside swings as you can toast.
This season, however, the sharp drop-off once reached the low-end RB2 range, I led that plan to reconsider that plan. After participating in many concepts and spotting, it is clear that my favorite teams have been the ones where I select two running backs in the first four or five rounds – guarantee a certain level of talent and volume.

There are other factors that contribute to this decision, such as the surplus of quality fantasy recipients that are available from round 5 to round 8. Since you should focus on WRs in that area of concepts, you can think about walking back earlier, knowing that you can fill in your receiving corps in the middle rounds.
Regardless of how your depth unfolds, you still have to load your bank with the usual RB-Stashes of one injury. Although the rising number of backfields of the committee is responsible for the remarkable good health that enjoyed the position last year, it would be surprising if we didn’t get a few injuries replacement fantasy starters that pop up all season.
The 2025 Top-50 Fantasy RB Board
About 2025 RB objectives
Chase Brown, Bengal: It took a Zack Moss injury to unlock Brown’s potential last year, but once that took place, Brown came to the fore when the RB7 generally came in fantasy points per match during the last 15 weeks.

Since then, the low season has been filled with positive quotes from people in and around the team, such as offensive coordinator Dan -Werder Die Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports says that: “Brown is going to be a household name towards the end of the season.” Getting brown at De Ronde 2-3 turn is one of my favorite choices in this year’s concepts.
Omarion Hampton, Chargers: The run match of the Chargers was strong at the start of last season and JK Dobbins was the RB14 in FPPG before injuries derailed his campaign in week 12. Recognized that they needed fresher legs in the position, the Hampton team set up in the first round. The 22-year-old comes to recruit more than 1500 scrimmage on consecutive seasons and more than 15 touchdowns in North Carolina. He offers a 94th percenty speed score and a 91st percentile Burst score, which should help him make big plays in the Greg Roman schedule. The loss of the right Tackle Rashawn Slater is a shame, but Hampton still has to be seen as a top-15 fantasy option in year 1.
Tony Pollard, Titans: Tyjae Spears’ suffering in the preseason with a high edge is a terrible result for a talented young runner who has not been able to stay healthy since his Rookie year. While he brought his way back from an injury that often limits the effectiveness of ball carriers, it is difficult not to see a huge fantasy ceiling for Pollard. In his first season at the Titans, Pollard posted his third consecutive campaign with at least 55 receptions and recruit more than 1,300 scrimmage. The only thing that stopped him was a lack of touchdowns. However, Tennessee has found his franchise QB in Cam Ward and made considerable investments in the offensive line in both design and free agents. Pollard is available much later than the other two names in this section, but in 2025 can make a push on low-end RB1 fantasisatistics.

About 2025 RBS fades
David Montgomery, Lions: Although Detroit’s attack will not fall completely without a former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, it is worth considering what a small decrease in efficiency and production could mean for the fantasy outlooks of their non-secluding players. Montgomery saw a decrease in the Carry’s last season and fell almost 2.5 Carry’s per game while Jahmyr Gibbs took over the Achterveld. The veteran made up for this with an increase in receiving work and his usual touchdowns, but it is fair to wonder if this team will be in a score position, so often progresses. In addition to their Playcaller leaving, the Lions also lost the Frank Ragnow star center on retirement and Vetera guard Kevin Zeilter at the Free Office. Their back will also be confronted with the most difficult schedule for Fantasy RBS in 2025. With Gibbs now clearly first, Montgomery is more of a risky TD-of-bust Fantasy option.
D’Andre Swift, Bears: Swift was a low-end RB2 in FPPG during his first year in Chicago and goes back into the season as the starter of the Bears. The 26-year-old must also take advantage of the arrival of new head coach Ben Johnson and a fully rebuilt interior of the attacking line. However, he has a very difficult start to the season with division matches versus the Vikingen and Leeuwen, who were at the bottom in hasty yards and fantasy points that could run in 2024.
In general, the Bears RBs have the ninth most difficult fantasy schedule and we have already seen a Johnson attack by Swift earlier – when it happened in Detroit. Don’t be shocked when Rookie Kyle Monangai eats in the volume of Swift and lowers his fantasy ceiling.

Aaron Jones Sr., Vikings: Jones has been a strong fantasy acquisition in the last seven seasons and is in his position from a top 20 fantasy campaign. Unfortunately, the Age Cliff comes for everyone and Jones will be 31 in December 31. Although this is technically his ninth year in the competition, his limited use as Rookie makes it lake at the age of eighth – that is when running tend to see a big dip in production, according to Fantasy Points’ Ryan Heath. Jones has also tackled a lot of injuries for the past four years, including quad, ribs, hip, knee, thigh, hamstring and ankle. The Vikings made a point to act for Jordan Mason and spoke to him as part of a 50-50 Backfield tandem, which will probably be shown around the goal line. That suggests that Jones can become more of a fantasy RB3 with incidental RB2 versions.
About 2025 RB -Slapers
Jordan Mason, Vikings: If you have not read the part of the Aaron Jones above, you should do that. The age and injury history of the veteran are a big reason why Mason is one of the most intriguing sleepers in fantasy concepts of 2025. As a member of the 49ers last year, Mason had an average of 108 scrimmage recruiting per match during the first seven weeks, while he filled in for a bergered Christian McCaffrey. Now he notices that he shares a backfield with another older runner with sustainability problems.
All signs indicate that Mason is an equal part of the hasty attack of the Vikings, in a powerful attack behind a improved line. Mason is ready to be a weekly RB3/Flex option with a clear path to RB1 fantasy value if Jones misses at any time.

Bhaysshul Tuten, Jaguars: Tuten is absolutely shot from a cannon with the ball in his hands and that could be seen during his debut for the preseason when he picked up 24 Yards and a touchdown on six carrys, while adding another 16 meters to two receptions. Jaguar’s general manager James Gladstone even admitted that Tuten was part of his pitch when he interviewed to get the job. This is also a wide open backfield with Tank Bigsby who gets in the camp for most of the carrys before Travis Etienne Jr. The majority of the Snaps saw the first-team attack in the preseason opener.
After speculation outside the season that Etienne could be a trading candidate, it is possible that the Jags show him for that reason. And when the team came back to the practice field this week, Tuten saw representatives with the starters. That could be the start of the rise of the Rookie De Deepkaart and with his skills we can talk about him as a fantasy at the end of the season.

Braelon Allen, Jets: Allen was the conversation of the camp of Jets and was wearing it in the first game of the preseason where he hurried eight times for 33 Yards and a score. New head coach Aaron Glenn has consistently put forward a commission approach in their backfield and attacking coordinator Tanner Engstrand, also comes from the Lions’ Organization, where they were very successful with the help of a two-back system.
The jets still have a long way to go before their run game is spoken in the same spirit as Detroit’s acclaimed duo, but a scenario in which Breece Hall is the Jahmyr Gibbs and all has a David Montgomery-like role. If the larger back can all stand in line for the tasks of the goal line and he would always be one room injury or exchange to be a fantasy competition winner.
