Mamaroneck’s Luke Reagins is the Journal News/Lohud Westchester/Putnam Baseball Player of the Year 5 July 2025.
Stew Leonard Jr., whose whimsical supermarkets with singing animatronic cows and other animals, vegetables and milk cartons contain, including at a location of Yonkers, is planned to throw the first throw on the Yankees match on Tuesday evening, August 12.
The Major League Baseball match, against the Minnesota Twins, starts at 7:05 pm in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

The Instagram account of the stores has placed videos from Leonard Reading for the game, including a practice pitch session.
“Main class preparation in the parking lot!” said one Instagram message. “Stew brought the team and some hometown all-start-from secondary school champions to #littleague legends-to give him pitching tips earlier [Tuesday] The first throw of the night in Yankee Stadium! “
Another message, on 10 August, contained Leonard “warming up in our Yonkers shop for his main class -moment” and “customers give tips, cheers and a little friendly coaching … think he’s ready for Yankee Stadium?”
To prepare for the throwing away of the first throw, Leonard was given some practice time in the Norwalk, Connecticut, on Monday, where the previous captain of the baseball team of that city and his teammates, several small Leaguers, and Wow de Koe helped Leonard to perfect his pitch.
Together with Yonkers, the Stew Leonard stores are in Connecticut, on Long Island and in New Jersey.
