Here is a quick look at Oklahoma High School Basketball Fans in State Fair Arena over the years of the photo department of Oklahoman.
The class 5A and 6A champion matches during the Oklahoma High School State Basketball Tournaments will be held in the new OG&E Coliseum, according to Oklahoma State Fair President and CEO Kirk Slaughter.
Additional details between the Fairgrounds and the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association have yet to be completed.
“But they let us know that 5a and 6a finals will be here this year,” said Slaughter.
The class 5a and 6A basketball tournaments have been held at various locations over the years, including Lloyd Noble Center in OU and Mabee Center at Oral Roberts University. But last season in the last year of state basketball in State Fair Arena, the tournaments for the two largest classes were moved there.
David Jackson, executive director of Ossaa, then said that the association would look for feedback from 5A and 6A coaches and managers after the tournaments to determine whether they would return to the trade fair.
“But the answer and the feedback we have was really positive,” Jackson said at the time.
