‘100 Yards’ with Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh for football match
In the last ‘100 Yards’ segment of the 2024 season, Darren Cooper talks to Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh for the 100th Thanksgiving match of the city.
Paterson – Because football teams in high school in New Jersey started exercises on 11 August, Paterson’s John F. Kennedy Knights will remain without head coach.
District officials did not disclose whether the team held practices without a head coach.
The Board of Education has voted twice for the recommendations of Chief Inspector Laurie Newell that Jarrod Rogers, who has been assistant coach at Depaulic High School in Wayne, gets the job.
The most recent rejection of the Rogers appointment of the school board took place on August 6. The next morning Paterson Press sent the public information officer of the District, Aida Rosario, an e -mail asking if the team would start practices on 11 August.

Rosario responded in the afternoon of 11 August with the following explanation: “The administration is still on this issue and currently has no definitive response.”
Paterson Press sent an e -mail on 12 August to clarify on 12 August. “They held meetings to tackle this issue,” said Rosario. “As soon as we have clear answers, we will share them.”
Neither school board chairman Eddie Gonzalez nor the vice -president Joel Ramirez answered the question whether the team practiced without head coach.
Ron Jackson had coached team for two decades
Ron Jackson had coached the knights for two decades and became the winning coach of the school. But Kennedy has completed a series of losing seasons in recent years, with the number of players in the team being steadily decreasing.
During a school board meeting in June, some members said they had the feeling that Jackson was being treated unfairly. Rogers attended a board meeting that month and said he would bring Kennedy success.
The school board will meet on August 13 and some members said they expect that Rogers’ appointment will come back for the third time.
